Pratap Partnership is searching for an experienced Group Accountant to join a large company located in Castleford. This newly created role will be responsible for robust accounting, recharging, and reporting of payroll and fixed asset costs, as well as supporting financial reporting requirements. This role will be policing new standards are met and policies are being followed across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record and manage payroll, tax, insurance, rebates, and group costs.
  • Keep rebate registers up to date, ensuring accurate accounting, payments, and reporting.
  • Reconcile exceptional costs and prepare summaries for management accounts.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, and depreciation postings; maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Provide cost analysis, track budgets, investigate variances, and assess financial risks.
  • Monitor costs throughout the year; support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
  • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations; ensure intercompany transaction alignment.
  • Oversee efficient period-end close, assisting with central costs and processes.
  • Prepare VAT, RCT/CIS returns, and complete ONS surveys as required.

Requirements:

  • Ideally ACCA/CIMA qualified but would consider  a finalist or QBE
  • Experience in group accounting and/or working in a centralised finance team of a large group would be advantageous
  • A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
