About Our Client:

Our client, an organisation specialising in agile power systems for renewable energy, is seeking a forward-thinking and confident Commercial Lawyer to join their team in Cheltenham. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, they are a key player in the industry and are shaping the future of the grid.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with business partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Providing legal advice and support on various matters including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance.
  • Creating and managing standard contract templates for project development.
  • Collaborating closely with the management team to provide legal support for future growth.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Offering general and commercial legal support to businesses in the group.
  • Identifying risk areas and developing risk mitigation solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assisting with company secretarial matters and document management.
  • Becoming an expert resource on complex regulations in the electricity sector.
  • Supporting the delivery of risk management strategies and compliance.

About You:

You are a qualified lawyer with a strong academic background and experience in commercial law, preferably within the energy or construction sector. While renewable energy experience is preferred, a strong interest in the sector will suffice for the right candidate. You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues in a commercial setting.
