As a Senior Commercial Lawyer, you will have the chance to support our client in making a real difference to the global problem of climate change. You will play a crucial role in managing legal risks for a company that is undergoing extensive growth and transformation.

What will you spend your day on at our client?

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with business partners, suppliers, and customers
  • Providing legal advice and support on various matters such as contracts, compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance
  • Managing a suite of standard contract templates to support project development
  • Collaborating closely with the management team to provide legal support for future growth
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Providing general and commercial legal support to businesses within the group
  • Identifying and mitigating risk areas in collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the business
  • Assisting with company secretarial matters and document management
  • Becoming an expert resource for the group on complex regulation in the electricity sector
  • Assisting with the delivery of risk management strategies and compliance across the company

What skills do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background
  • Experience practising commercial law, preferably in the energy or construction sector
  • Renewable energy experience is preferred, but a strong interest in the sector would be enough for the right person
  • Knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and compliance
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in the electricity storage and/or generation sectors, or demonstrable experience in managing complex regulatory issues, would be a significant advantage
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to act with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong commercial awareness
