Job Summary:

We are partnering with a dynamic and highly reputable business in Chester to recruit a Senior Management Accountant on a fixed-term basis for 6-9 months. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional to work closely with the Finance Director and the Commercial Finance team; you will take ownership of producing accurate financial reports, driving performance insights, and ensuring the seamless execution of month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial reporting and performance analysis across multiple business units.
  • Prepare, review, and present management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis, providing meaningful insights to support decision-making.
  • Oversee month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and develop junior finance team members, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, acting as a key finance business partner.

Candidate requirements:

  • Ideally fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) although applicants who are qualified by experience will also be considered
  • Analytical mindset
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Track record of driving improvements in financial processes and reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
  • High proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
