Overview

My client, a leading practice based in Chester, are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Accountant/Accounts Assistant to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Addressing client queries with HMRC
  • Managing the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Compiling personal tax computations and returns
  • Provision of bookkeeping and management accounting services
  • Maintenance of up-to-date accounting records for clients
  • Preparation of annual accounts and corporation tax returns
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in accounting or finance roles preferred
  • AAT or ACCA qualification preferred, but not essential
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or Xero
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information
Day-to-day

Working hours are 7.5 hours per day, between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. Office based
