As a Payroll Manager, you'll have the chance to grow and advance within a forward-thinking and rapidly evolving firm. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the Payroll Team, ensuring top-notch performance and support.
  • Managing a portfolio of medium to large-sized client payrolls, handling daily administration tasks like RTI submissions, end-of-year forms, and auto-enrollment processes.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly client payrolls, from data input and reconciliation to payslip generation and client reporting.
  • Providing technical support to clients on payroll, PAYE, and basic employment matters.
  • Liaising with third parties, including HMRC and pension providers, on behalf of clients.
  • Communicating regularly with clients, both over the phone and in person.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for someone who’s eager to embrace a new challenge. You’ll need to:

  • Have proven experience leading and managing a payroll team, ideally within a bureau setting or accountancy practice.
  • Be highly efficient, with a strong track record of managing payrolls from start to finish, including all statutory calculations, RTI, year-end processes, and complex payrolls.
  • Possess up-to-date, comprehensive payroll knowledge.
  • Be an excellent communicator, adept at building relationships with clients and resolving queries with HMRC.
  • Be tech-savvy, with experience using Iris Star software.
