Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant
Location: Chesterfield, S43

Grade/Scale: Support Pay Scale Grade 8
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week, term time only

Long Term Futures is seeking a flexible, committed, and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a team dedicated to supporting primary-aged pupils with challenging and complex needs. This rewarding role based in Chesterfield (S43) involves assisting pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, helping them engage in their learning in small, supportive groups or on a one-to-one basis.

The Role:

  • Support pupils in lessons to engage with their learning, as well as during breaks and lunch times
  • Work with small groups (2 to 7 pupils) or individually, tailored to their specific needs
  • Occasionally provide home tuition or support for non-attending pupils, as required
  • Step in to deliver lessons during staff absence when needed
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, helping them manage emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Contribute to a small, dedicated team to ensure smooth operation of the site
