A successful services business is seeking an External Reporting Lead to join the team in the Chesterfield area for a fixed term contract.Your RoleWhile in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Leading the groups half-year and year-end financial statements production, ensuring accuracy and time efficiency are prioritised, as well as signing off any relating work for subsidiaries
  • Taking ownership of the groups accounting manuals, technical accounting papers and policies, ensuring they are updated with any developments or revisions and making sure the business is adhering to best practice reporting, updating the policies where needed to push this
  • Effectively managing internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and board members with regard to financial information and processes, particularly acting as a key point of contact for external auditors
  • Providing insightful input for the annual reports and for papers relating to the Audit & Risk Committee and board
  • Proactively seeking solutions to improve efficiency across the business to streamline financial reporting processes and the audit process
  • Taking responsibility as the groups key point of contact for technical accounting queries and advice, providing insight into new accounting standards and providing your sign off for any related technical accounting matters
  • Managing the financial statement processes for subsidiary entities
You MUST HavePlease apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Extensive post-qualified experience in a relevant financial and external reporting role
  • Strong and practical knowledge of IFRS and other key accounting standards is essential.
  • Proven experience in managing audit processes end-to-end in a lead capacity.
  • Experience within a Top 4 or other well-known audit/accounting practices is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must demonstrate strong stakeholder management and engagement abilities.
