Band 6 Biomedical Scientist

Grade/Band: 6Start Date: asapEnd Date: 3 months from start dateDays/Time Required: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (37.5 hours per week)Location: Microbiology, Saint Richards Hospital

Pay Rates: £21 - £23 per hour

Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic microbiological testing, including bacteriology.
• Analyse and interpret laboratory results to provide accurate data for clinical decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and laboratory protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Participate in the training and supervision of junior staff and students.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Proven experience in microbiology, specifically bacteriology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
