We have an exciting role at a leading independent consultancy offering a broad spectrum of planning expertise across multi-faceted projects across the UK.  Due to an influx of new projects we are looking for a Town Planning Director to join the South West leadership team in Cirencester / Bristol.

As a senior team member you will have experience of managing teams, winning work and leading the client portfolio. 

You will ideally be:

  • Chartered member of the RTPI.
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of the UK Planning System and knowledge of the relevant legislation, combined with a strong portfolio which demonstrates such knowledge, technical capability and understanding in respect of both development management and development planning.
  • Extensive experience in the coordination and implementation of strategies from development plan site promotions through to the successful management of applications for major development projects acting as the lead consultant.
  • Expert witness capability; experienced in the coordination and preparation of hearing statements and proofs of evidence, instructing Counsel, together with the delivery of that planning evidence at both hearings and inquiries.
  • Ability to write complex reports, interpret data at ease and make clear and relevant recommendations.
  • Extensive experience of direct client care with the ability to generate new business and lead on the management and development of key client contacts.
  • Play an active role in staff development, management and training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
