Associate Teacher (Self-Employed/ QTS/ SEND)

- £20 - £27 Per hour of teaching
- (rate includes preparation and review time) depending on experience
Are you a QTS Teacher looking for a grassroots position in a freshly launched Alternative Learning Provision (ALP), where you will be instrumental in shaping the education of young people with barriers to learning including SEND and mental health challenges?
This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic, experienced, close-knit team, working to build a specialist ALP, which will allow you to progress into a full-time position if so desired.
You will also have the chance to shape learning to align with your creative passions and drive, delivering a more fulfilling and meaningful experience. Additionally, you will have autonomy to develop your role within the provision as it grows, possibly leading to Head of Department or similar.
You will be encouraged to plan and deliver your sessions using a creative, trauma-informed approach to education for children aged 6 -19 and 19 - 25 in qualifying situations.
This provision is designed to be a transitionary service to encourage learners to progress onto the next stage of their life and prepare for adulthood, be it any of the following:
- Returning to mainstream education
- Transitioning to special school
- Education Other Than at School (EOTAS)
- Transition to Further Education
- Transition to Supported Internships and Work
- Transition to Social Care
THE ROLE
- Planning, delivering and assessing Functional Skills and GCSE Maths and English in a brand-new Alternative Learning Provision.
- Creative freedom to plan and deliver your lessons based on each learner's interests and motivations with a focus on removing barriers to learning and encouraging engagement.
- Working In North Somerset in a tranquil countryside setting, in a high-quality base with new equipment and resources.
THE PERSON
- Qualified Teacher, QTS or Similar
- Prepared to travel within North Somerset
- Part-time role progressing to full-time as the provision develops
- Flexible, driven and someone who has high aspirations for our learners
