Are you an experienced accountant looking for a stable and rewarding role in a well-established, independently owned Cumbrian business? We are seeking a Company Accountant to work onsite and take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, working closely with the management team and external accountants to ensure financial compliance and efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who enjoys a hands-on role in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments.

  • Managing customer invoicing and monitoring incoming payments.

  • Conducting bank reconciliations.

  • Producing monthly management accounts.

  • Handling online payment methods.

  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.

  • Processing payroll for 50> employees, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.

  • Cashflow management

What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role.

  • AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Strong attention to detail with meticulous record-keeping skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with Sage accounting software is advantageous.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

  • Adaptable and flexible approach to problem-solving.
