The Role

The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance at an automated cold storage facility, which operates at temperatures of -23C. This role requires time-served, multi-skilled engineers with a solid background in maintenance. The position follows a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, including days and nights (12-hour shifts) with weekend and bank holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality, scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
  • Repair and maintain automated machinery, alongside general site maintenance duties.
  • Ensure compliance with supplier guidelines for maintaining conveyors, cranes, cooling systems, and oxygen reduction units.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be a qualified, time-served engineer with comprehensive knowledge of both traditional and advanced technology, capable of applying this expertise to maintain a competitive and innovative edge.
  • A recognised electrical qualification is essential.
  • Experience working with automated stacker cranes and roller conveyor systems is preferred.
  • Should be proactive, independent, and confident in decision-making, with a clear understanding of when to escalate matters.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills to liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, regulators, auditors, and vendors.
  • Previous experience in automated warehouse environments is advantageous but not essential.
  • Comfortable working at heights of up to 42 metres.
  • Due to health and safety regulations, candidates must not exceed 125kg in weight.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts
