HR Manager

Location: Coventry and Burton on Trent, ideally you will be based between both locations and have the ability to spend 2 days per week at each site and one day WFH.

Salary: £40-£45K/annually
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead and shape the People function across Hallmark Engineering Group. This is a standalone role offering the opportunity to make a strategic and operational impact in a growing company, supporting our diverse group of companies, including EES Solutions and Hadfield Services.
As HR Manager, you will implement the People agenda, driving employee engagement, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring HR practices align with our business objectives. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle. With a large contractor base and a dynamic workforce, you will manage complex HR processes, compliance, and support the development of innovative People strategies that put employees at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
Implement the HR strategy aligned with the company’s goals and values, ensuring a proactive approach to all People initiatives. We do have the support of a HR Consultant who will work with you to set the HR Strategy.
Serve as a advisor to the leadership team, providing guidance on workforce planning and employee relations.
Employee Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring seamless processes and an exceptional employee experience.
Design and deliver innovative onboarding programs that integrate new hires effectively and promote early engagement.
Manage performance management processes, coaching managers on best practices and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Lead initiatives to enhance employee retention, engagement, and satisfaction, including the development of recognition programs, surveys, and feedback mechanisms.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with UK employment law and industry best practices.
Manage sponsorship applications, ensuring compliance with Home Office regulations and maintaining accurate records.
Oversee relationships with umbrella companies, ensuring IR35 compliance and seamless contractor integration.
Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure the business remains fully compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Operational HR Responsibilities:
Manage employment contracts and contracts for services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across the organisation.
Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, resolving conflicts and providing guidance on HR best practices.
Lead HR projects and system implementations, improving efficiencies and streamlining HR operations.
Partner with the internal resourcing team to ensure alignment between recruitment activities and business needs.
Culture & Engagement:
Champion a people-first culture, ensuring that employees feel valued, supported, and empowered in their roles.
Design and deliver employee engagement initiatives, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
Plan and execute company-wide events that reinforce our culture and drive employee connection and satisfaction.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager, ideally within engineering or manufacturing, or a consultancy background.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.
- Experience managing a contractor-heavy workforce and navigating complex employment structures, including IR35 compliance and sponsorship applications would be helpful.
- Demonstrated success in implementing HR strategies that align with business goals.
- Proven track record of leading change management initiatives and improving HR processes.
