We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on behalf of a well-respected firm in Coventry. This role is ideal for a focused and self-motivated individual who is keen to support the smooth operation of the Accounts & Administration department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and confidentiality required in the department.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage daily banking activities.
  • Process client bills and complete inter-account transfers.
  • Handle client and office transactions efficiently.
  • Manage petty cash, including control and reconciliation.
  • Complete month-end routines and produce financial reports such as Profit/Loss and Trial Balance.
  • Execute CHAPS/BACS and inter-account transfers via online banking.
  • Maintain the Purchase Ledger, including posting and control.
  • Perform archive and matter close routines.
  • Engage in data entry and maintain organized filing systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High level of accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly within a team environment.
  • Willingness to undertake additional administrative duties as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication capabilities.
  • Awareness of anti-money laundering and cybercrime.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices, with knowledge of the Solicitors Financial Rules being advantageous.
  • Computer literacy, preferably with experience in legal accounting software.
