Childcare Solicitor - Public Law

Coventry / Hybrid

Salary up to £60,000 

We are looking for an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join a busy Care department within a well-established, Lexcel accredited, expanding law firm at their office in Coventry city centre. Hybrid working is available.

The role will involve:

• Managing a caseload of  care matters including pre-proceedings and public law children matters
• Applying for and managing Legal Aid public funding for clients, including POA claims for disbursements and interim costs payments
• Using a case management system, Legal Aid Agency CCMS online and HMCTS FPL Portal
• Conducting advocacy in case management and contested public law hearings
• Taking client instructions
• Providing targeted legal advice and drafting applications and statements
• Briefing and working with Counsel
• Working effectively in a team as well as using your own initiative to work independently

Suitable Candidates will have

• Fully qualified status, with around 5 years' experience of running a public law care caseload
• Experience of using a legal case management system
• Experience of using court portal and legal aid agency portal
• Experience of conducting your own advocacy

This is a full time permanent job, working 9am to 5.15 pm Monday to Friday. Home working is available for part of the week.
