Job Summary:
A leading global energy company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its Teesside operations. As the Fabrication Technical Authority, you will provide essential mechanical engineering support to the Asset Integrity team, ensuring the successful delivery of fabrication projects, shutdowns, and plant maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Fabrication Technical Authority, managing all fabrication-related technical queries.
  • Oversee a large Facilities Management (FM) contract (circa 100 personnel).
  • Manage a portfolio of fabrication-focused projects resulting from inspection and anomaly programs.
  • Develop and evaluate tender packages and scope-of-work documents.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and project delivery processes.
  • Coordinate with operations teams for permits and ensure contractor safety compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support investigations when needed.
Financial & Contract Management:

  • Monitor contract values and project costs, ensuring efficient scope management.
  • Propose cost-saving initiatives and contribute to maintenance budget planning.
  • Track and report on budgets and spend related to fabrication projects.
Competency Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably chartered status).
  • Strong experience in fabrication and mechanical engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage contracts, including FM term contracts.
  • Industrial relations experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
