A leading manufacturing company in Cramlington are looking for a HR Advisor on a 12-month fixed term contract. The purpose of this role is to assist the HR Director in managing, developing and implementing employment policies and procedures for all employees.

  • Salary £38,000
  • 27 days holiday + BH

Duties:

  • Assist in staff recruitment, selection, and employment checks.
  • Manage and deliver employee induction programs.
  • Ensure fair application of company policies and legislative compliance; advise line management.
  • Control and report on sickness/absence levels; analyse trends and propose actions.
  • Support line managers in absence management and disciplinary procedures.
  • Manage and maintain T&A and Personnel Management systems.
  • Take minutes at Union meetings, pay reviews, and disciplinary hearings.
  • Support GDPR projects and community events (career fairs).
  • Participate in strategic HR projects and health/wellbeing campaigns.

The candidate:

  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures including employment legislation.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels and be persuasive and diplomatic yet firm.
  • IT literate including MS Office, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • CIPD qualified (desirable)
