Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver tailored educational activities to small classes of 3-6 students, ensuring each child's learning and developmental needs are met.
  • Develop and implement individualised educational plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other educational professionals and families to support students' specific needs.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Foster a nurturing and safe learning environment that encourages students to engage and progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to continuously develop professional skills and share best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a focus on special educational needs.
  • Experience working with children aged 4-19 in a special educational needs setting.
  • Strong understanding of the strategies needed to manage and support children with diverse educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Patience, creativity, and a commitment to providing inclusive education.
