Job Overview:As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of a broad range of goods and services for the organisation. This role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining relationships that align with the company's operational needs and budgetary goals. You will ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while driving process improvements and cost efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for various categories of goods and services
  • Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from supplier sourcing and negotiation to contract management and purchase order execution
  • Conduct supplier market research and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure best value for the organisation
  • Negotiate and execute contracts, ensuring favourable terms, cost savings, and quality standards are met
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and develop solutions that align with business goals
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships, and resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery, or service
  • Track and report on procurement metrics, identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations
  • Manage supplier risk and maintain contingency plans to ensure business continuity
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals

Skills:

  • Previous experience in a procurement role
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations, policies, and best practices
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments
