Pupil Referral Unit Science Teacher

Children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health or Behavioural needs (SEMH) can require a different kind of teacher. Is that you?

If so, Academics have the perfect Science teaching role for you! Based in a Specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), you'll work to the Science GCSE curriculum, ensuring a good standard of education is given to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health or Behavioural needs.

About You:

QTS required with Secondary Science specialism (KS4 and Year 9 teaching)
Affinity for children with SEMH needs and Looked After Children (LAC)
Ability to plan, teach, and assess to GCSE standard
Committed to raising the aspirations of children with challenging behaviour in a PRU
An effective communicator, with children, parents, and colleagues
A team player, able to work collaboratively
Pastoral capabilities, including contributing to EHCPs
Adaptable and proactive; you must be able to react to the events the day could throw at you!
