Employee Relations Manager

£24.30 per hour

Based in Croydon

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Occupational Health, HR, EDI teams, external lawyers, and the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support staff wellbeing during HR processes.
  • Provide expert HR advice on employment law, policies, and procedures, managing issues such as sickness absence, grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Lead sickness management strategies, working with Health & Wellbeing teams to reduce absenteeism and support employee return-to-work right up to hearing stage. Handling a variety of complex and sensitive cases which involved redeployment and ill health retirement.
  • Able to deal with flexible working requests and other ER cases to support the ER Advsiors.
  • Oversee restructuring processes, including redundancy, consultation, while ensuring compliance with employee rights.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with trade unions, NHS teams, and external organizations to share best practices and ensure a consistent, professional employee relations service.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in employee relations, specifically in managing sickness absence and handling complex HR issues.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, and workplace wellbeing.
