We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to a large SEN Secondary school based in Croydon. You will provide tailored occupational therapy support to individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions, learning disabilities and other associated challenges.
Your focus will be on person-centred care, assessing needs, planning interventions and supporting individuals to develop the skills they need for daily life. This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out the Occupational Therapy process with service users: including standardised and non-standardised assessment of occupational performance, client centred goal setting, implementation of intervention and evaluation of progress using outcome measures.
- Conduct initial assessments at hospitals and in the community with potential new service users when referrals are made to the service.
- To support service users to develop their skills and increase their independence; subsequently improving quality of life.
- To support Health Care Support Workers with the provision of activities and delegate tasks as appropriate.
- To oversee the use of the rehabilitation kitchen.
- To be involved in the risk assessment of service users when attending activities in the community to ensure it is suitable for the individual and all potential risks are managed.

The Person
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Active HCPC Pin Registration number.
- Knowledge and understanding of activity/occupation in relation to mental health and well-being.
- Ability to deliver on targets.
- Application of Occupational Therapy models of practice and evidence-based practice.
- Knowledge, understanding and application Occupational Therapy process relating to client centred practice.
- Demonstrate sound techniques in applying range of sensory, physical and manual assessments and treatments.
- Excellent communication and interactive skills.
