We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspiring, well-organised individual to assist the Head of Department with a greater emphasis on girls PE.
You will be required to assist with the monitoring of the quality of teaching and learning within the department through established procedures (observations, monitoring of assessment and recording). Assist with the reorganisation and monitoring of departmental resources. Plan and organise departmental visits and extra-curricular activities. Cover a wide range of different sports and physical activities and provide pupils and students with the opportunity to develop and improve their physical and social abilities. Applicants need to be able to manage pupils and students and be able to motivate and encourage them to take part in all lessons. You will need to work well as part of a team as well as independently and also be able to work with learning support assistants.
Key responsibilities
- Assist/Deputise for the Head of Department (girls)
- Have an excellent knowledge of the Physical Education Curriculum
- Teach Year 7 to Year 13 Physical Education (which may include GCSE and A Level PE)
- Be an important part of a highly committed department
