I am currently recruiting for a really exciting Junior Buyer role for a national construction related business. Ambitious and hard-working, they are a family-style business that believes in investing in talent and developing skills.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, office based Junior Buyer to offer support across multiple areas of the business.

The ideal candidate will have some purchasing or procurement experience and been keen to grow and learn and build a career in this field

Key duties

  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships, ensuring good communications.
  • Undertake supplier negotiations.
  • Placing of purchase orders with suppliers and managing them to ensure the goods/services are delivered in a timely manner to support our depot needs, communicating any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact to the business operations.
  • Responsible for the 'day to day' management of the various procurement databases (ie. supplier files, delivery notes and supplier price lists) as well as participating in supplier selection/assessment and rating process.
  • Planning/preparing forward import orders based on forecasted depot requirements, benchmarked against historical period sales figures.
  • Preparing cost analysis reports on procurement process activities to allow the Procurement Manager to make informed decisions.
  • Assisting accounts in the posting of invoices and taking a leading role in the resolving of invoice/account discrepancies.

The Ideal candidate

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good analytical skills with excellent planning/prioritising skills and a strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Valid full UK Driving Licence.
