A premium food retailer is looking to recruit for senior buyer to join its established team in London. The senior buyer role covers the meat and fish category. You’ll be responsible for developing the product range, pricing strategy, managing vendor and supplier relationships to ensure that the category hits the commercial targets given for the year. There is a real opportunity for a commercial buyer to come in and trade the category, taking it to the next level. You will also be responsible for the sales strategy of the counters as well as prepacked meat and fish.
The successful candidate will have gained experience at a buyer or senior buyer level within a fresh foods environment. You will be highly energised and motivated, someone who is able to think outside the box and bring a problem solver approach to the organisation. You are able to do things differently from typical food retail, new ideas, different ways of doing things are encouraged. The ideal candidate will also have managed butcher and/or fishmonger counters as part of your remit.
In return the role is paying up to £70,000 as a basic salary, plus an annual bonus of up to £7,000. There are share options given to you each year which totals around £3,500. The office base is in the City in a beautiful area of London.
