An ambitious Outstanding primary school based in Dagenham are seeking a dynamic SEN Administrator that is committed to providing an outstanding service and supporting the school SENDCo. The successful candidate will be required to fulfil a full range of duties to support and enable the best possible learning environment for all pupils.

Overall Responsibilities

To undertake a range of administrative duties to support the SENDCo and to deliver a consistent, high quality, integrated and seamless service.

  • Provide administrative support to the team, acting as first point of contact between the SENCO and parents
  • Liaise with outside agencies to arrange meetings and co-ordinate agency timetable to ensure students receive allocated hours on Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP).
  • To coordinate administration of IEPs of EHCP and SEN pupils and distribute to all relevant parties.
  • To coordinate and undertake general administration including arrangements for the identification, assessment and provision for all SEND pupils
  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems and shared resources e.g. SEN register
  • Attend and take notes at meetings, produce and circulate minutes as necessary

 

Person Specification

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Qualification at Level 2 (Grade C or above) in English, Maths and Science

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge or experience of SEND or equivalent
  • ICT skills and knowledge of other specialist equipment/resources.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team and contribute to its success
  • Good written English and effective communication skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully and confidently with telephone callers and visitors
  • Ability to remain calm, composed and flexible within a busy and demanding environment
  • Ability to undertake a wide range of clerical, administrative and general duties.
  • Accurate in recording details and make full use of the schools’ computer systems
