We are currently seeking a dedicated School Business Manager to join our team in January 2025. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the planning, creation, registration, and operation of the new school, as well as play a vital role in its day-to-day management once opened.

Location: Derby 

Contract: Full-time, Permanent 

Start Date: January 2025 

The Role:

As the School Business Manager, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for:

  • Leading and managing all non-teaching operations, including finance, HR, premises, and administration.
  • Ensuring the school runs efficiently, safely, and in line with strategic goals, while maintaining a healthy and welcoming environment.
  • Managing and overseeing budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively.
  • Creating and implementing development plans for continuous improvement across support services.
  • Supporting the recruitment and development of a team that will contribute to the school's success.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Management or Professional qualification in a related field (e.g., Diploma in Management or Finance qualification) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in education.
  • Familiarity with current inspection frameworks and safeguarding procedures.
  • Proven experience managing financial systems, including budget preparation and monitoring EBITDA.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
