Are you a skilled and committed Teaching Assistant with expertise in SEND? Are you an Early Years professional looking for a new challenge meeting the needs of children with SEN? Our esteemed partner Primary school in Alfreton, Derbyshire is seeking a full-time teaching assistant to support their Early Years provision. This role is intended to last the entire academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with special educational needs.
  • Develop engaging learning activities and adapt them to meet pupils' needs.
  • Conduct interventions for groups of learners, including phonics and reading sessions.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Assist pupils with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
  • Work with individuals or small groups of students within the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or degree, or Early Years equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in the Early Years, or nursery environment.
  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs.
