We are seeking a dynamic individual with a diverse skill set to join our vibrant SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) partner school. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in education, psychology, sports, drama, mental health support work, social work, or any related field that has equipped them with strong empathy and resilience.

Working hours between Mon to Fri, 08.30 - 15.45. This is an ad hoc role, to support in staff absence periods - whether you can commit to 2 days or 5 days per week - we want to hear from you! This could be an opportunity, to establish yourself within the school and secure a permanent contract with them.

Day to day of the role:

  • Work closely with students who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, providing support and guidance tailored to their individual challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and mental well-being within the school environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and external agencies to create holistic support plans for students.
  • Engage with students in both one-to-one and group settings, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting approaches as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in SEMH education and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a role supporting individuals with SEMH needs, whether in an educational setting or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with and inspire students.
  • Resilience and adaptability to work effectively in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related discipline are desirable.
