Gardener and Grounds Maintenance Worker

Do you have experience within horticulture and working with maintenance tools, like mowers, trimmers, and hedge cutters? Are you a hard worker with a willingness to learn? Then this might be the role for you!
Our client is looking for a Gardener and Ground Maintenance Worker to join their team full-time and permanently. The successful candidate will support the team with gardening and general maintenance of public spaces.Travel around the local area is required, so a full, clean driving license is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring plant health
- Watering, weeding and feeding plants
- Assist with the design and planting schemes
- Planting flower beds and handling baskets
- Undertake general repairs, cleaning and maintenance of public property
- Maintain recreational areas, including cutting and weeding, using appropriate equipment
- Check the safety of play and sports equipment
- Cover duties of Park Warden during periods of sickness
- Assist in the preparation of community events
Skills & Experience:
- Previous horticulture experience is highly desirable
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance essentiall
- Experience in using general maintenance tools, mowers, strimmers, hedge cutter etc.
- Excellent verbal communication abilities
This position is working 37 hours per week 5 days over 7 so some occasional weekend working is needed
