Graduate Commercial Finance Analyst | £30,000 - £35,000 + range of benefits | Doncaster (hybrid working)
The Opportunity
Are you an Accountancy and Finance graduate with excellent analytical and communication skills?
Are you looking to step away from month end accounting, VAT returns and balance sheet recs and into a business facing / business partnering role?
You’ll join one of South Yorkshire’s fastest growing businesses - an acquisitive group led by a talented and modern-thinking CFO.
Your role is newly created and focused on building a bridge between the central finance team and the wider business. You’ll be working with non-finance managers across the UK - working together to get under the skin of the P&L, management information pack and commercial reporting.
You’ll be bringing the numbers to life and providing credible and sensible insights to the FP&A Manager. You’ll be drilling into interesting trends around cost fluctuations, margin variances, site profitability, overhead cost variances. It’s a commercially focused role and you’ll gain really valuable understanding of the drivers of success, revenue, margin and profit.
Required:
- A relevant degree (accounting and finance / economics or similar)
- Excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of Excel.
- Great communication skills - ability to present financial info and MI to a wide audience of colleagues (many of whom will be from a non finance background).
- A proactive approach to spotting trends and investigating what’s actually driving the numbers in the P&L.
- Confidence to get out into the business at various UK sites to get behind the numbers.
- Excellent core accounting understanding.
This is a collaborative team and you’ll have plenty of support, encouragement and guidance from a qualified manager. If you are a commercially aware accountancy and finance graduate with 1 -2 years experience (perhaps from a sandwich placement or work experience) it would be great to speak.
