They are looking for a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join their team in the Dorset area on a permanent basis. The Senior Structural Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
Strong experience with steel
5 or more years’ industry experience ideally working in a similar role within structural design
Proficient with using structural analysis software, ideally Tekla, RWIND, Dlubal etc.
Strong CAD skills, experienced with AutoCAD for design
Confident knowledge of building/construction codes and structural disciplines
Management / leadership experience would also be beneficial
Able to manage design projects from concept to delivery
Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Senior Structural Design Engineer role will involve:

Being responsible for the design and development of various products and structures
Leading a team of Junior Structural Engineers
Using CAD and structural analysis software on a day-to-day basis
Developing ideas from concept to production
Creating models/prototypes
Liaising with clients and developing solutions
Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
Providing technical guidance and support
