Reed accountancy are working with a fantastic returning client based in Midlothian who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to provide support within the finance department. The ideal candidate will have experience within a similar role and be able to manage multiple workloads independently.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Upload and review daily income reconciliations.
  • Conduct monthly holiday home deposit reconciliations.
  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding and appropriate authorisations.
  • Handle bank payments and receipts.
  • Perform bank and loan reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly journals.
  • Manage debtors and creditors, keeping relevant team members informed of any outstanding sums, including weekly debtors reports and maintaining good credit control on all accounts.
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices.
  • File records and archive documents.
  • Produce analysis reports as required.
  • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Driven, proactive, and motivated with a flexible “can do” attitude.
  • Ideally holds a full and clean driving licence.
