You will be working for a large housing provider who manage over 50,000 homes.

Your new role

The Grounds Maintenance team are responsible for the cyclical upkeep of the communal areas. This covers a large geographical area and includes market rent, shared ownership and independent living communities on many estates or the whole estate. They also provide a reactionary service where they have to deal with hazards which can be anything from dumped items to clearing snow on our independent living blocks.

They are also responsible for the management of the trees and like to retain as many as possible or replant if any are removed. The client believes that the trees play a big part in communities by providing shade in the summer and promote a healthy wellbeing as well as offsetting our carbon footprint.

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative you will be working within a team, you'll be responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges. You may also be required to undertake soft landscaping/minor tree work.

You'll be covering sites across Eastleigh, Hampshire and surrounding areas from the main base and have the flexibility to plan your workload within a fortnightly round.

Don't worry about getting from site to site, we'll provide you with an van.What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for a proactive, great team player and someone with a good eye for detail who's looking for a new challenge.

You will have ideally

  • Practical amenity horticultural knowledge & experience
  • PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
  • NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)
  • A full driving licence (with towing licence desirable)
