Paint Pots has been established since 2000 and now has 6 nurseries and 7 pre-schools in Southampton and Hampshire, well known for having an inclusive, loving and homely environment which is safe, secure and stimulating. We are part of a charity and run as not for profit, our work is driven by a set of core values about bringing joy care and friendship in an environment which is full of love, laughter and learning. We are looking for a passionate and ambitious deputy manager to join our team in the center of Southampton.

Responsibilities of a Deputy Nursery Manager:

To assume responsibility for the daily operation of the pre-school in the absence of the Manager.

Understand and have a good knowledge of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Inspection Handbook, Ofsted and Local Authority requirements.

Ensure that all statutory guidance is adhered to.

To ensure that the setting is a safe and clean environment for children, staff and others.

To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their childs development.

Being a positive influence, motivator and ambassador for Paint Pots in all situations, promoting our values.

Working in close collaboration with the manager, setting SENDCo and the wider support team and outside agencies to ensure the continuing development and high standards of care and education in the setting.

To assist the Manager and staff in providing a dynamic, active learning environment for the children on a day-to-day basis

To be responsible for the maintenance of records and the assessment and recording of development, progress and attainment for every child.

  • To be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the setting, alongside the Manager.

Essential Criteria of a Deputy Nursery Manager:
