Pertemps are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Licensing Assistant to join our team in Edinburgh City Centre. This role is ideal for someone with excellent administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will support the licensing team in processing applications, liaising with clients and authorities, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.Hours of work: Mon-Fri 36 hoursRate of Pay: £13.48 per hourDuration:12 weeks with possible extensionImmediate StartThe successful candidate will be required to assist in the delivery of high quality, customer focused, administrative and business services.Main duties include:
  • Processing all license applications
  • Assessing statutory requirements and customer feedback
  • Handling confidential information with appropriate sensitivity
  • Seeking advice or escalating more complex licensing issues as appropriate
  • Attending meetings and preparing actions, notes/minutes and follow-on actions
  • Maintaining and updating database management systems on behalf of the Licensing team as required
Requirements for this role:
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Being able to manage a large workload
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Ability to understand and apply their knowledge of licensing legislation and be able to demonstrate the ability to understand the implications of licensing decisions
  • Must be able to develop an awareness of appropriate licensing policies and procedures and understand the operational implications of policy and procedure changes
  • Ability to work under pressure, responding positively in difficult or urgent situations
