File Checker - Wealth Management

Are you an experienced compliance File Checker or a technical Paraplanner looking to move into a file review position? If so, then this could be the role for you.

A regional Financial Advisers are looking to grow their compliance team with an experienced File checker.

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake suitability reviews according to an agreed timetable, to ensure that advice is in line with internal and regulatory standards.
  • To contribute to a "continuous improvement" culture and that the outcomes being achieved for clients are suitable and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • To provide feedback and support to the Compliance Manager as to the standards of advice and suitability required.
  • Ensure all checked client files are compliant within the scope of suitability requirements.
  • Periodic suitability reports to be checked post issue on a sample basis. Financial Planners to be recommended for sign off once a good track record has been established.
  • Work with and provide feedback to Financial Planners on an arising basis, highlighting examples of good and poor practice, and agreeing an action plan to address deficiencies with appropriate follow up.
  • Work closely with the compliance department and keep up to date with industry requirements.

More about you:

  • Strong knowledge of UK financial services and independent financial advice.
  • Experience in assessing the suitability of financial advice within the IFA market.
  • Ability to provide detailed feedback and work collaboratively with advisers.
  • Level 4 qualification (desirable).
