Windsor Forest College Group is looking for a Head of Department for Maths and Engineeringtojoin the Strodes and Windsor College team on a full-time basis.

Head of Department – Maths and Engineering

The successful candidate for Head of Department: Maths and Engineering will be responsible for leading curriculum development, innovation, and coordination within the Maths and Engineering curriculum areas.They will be capable of improving student retention and achievement by promoting best practices in teaching and learning. In addition to their leadership role, the Head of Department must also teach up to 13.5 hours per week in a relevant subject.

To achieve their goals, the Head of Department must be competent and comfortable in managing and developing the curriculum team, implementing the Teaching, Learning & Assessment Framework to improve learner outcomes, and promoting high expectations for staff and students.

You will be responsible for ensuring the effective use of individualized learning schemes and resources, identifying and supporting underperforming students, and continuously improving the quality of teaching and assessment.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a degree or equivalent qualification, and a recognized teaching qualification.They should be able to demonstrate successful experience in running courses, motivating learners, and achieving high levels of student retention and achievement.Other desirable qualities include an understanding of the learning environment, experience in setting targets and monitoring progress, and the ability to effectively lead and motivate others.
