Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £22,366 per annum plus benefits package

Job Type: 2 Year Fixed-Term Contract

Hours: 37 Hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8:45am – 5.00pm and Friday - 8:45am – 4.30pm

Customer Services Advisor Apprentice – The Role:

As a Customer Service Advisor Apprentice, you will gain a good understanding and experience of work in a frontline, public sector post. Primarily telephony based, you will provide a courteous and efficient service to all customers, resolving their enquiries, wherever possible, at the first point of contact, checking and updating customer data. You will also respond to customer enquiries in-person at the reception desk and process financial payments for the services the authority provides or has responsibility for administering.

 

Customer Services Advisor Apprentice – Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the lead advisor on statutory and non-statutory environmental services, including Environmental Health, the Home Improvement Agency, and Waste and Recycling Services

- Prepare, implement, and monitor service delivery plans, strategies, and transformation plans to ensure targets are met

- Provide operational and strategic leadership, delivering an efficient, effective, and customer-focused enforcement and regulatory service

- Offer senior technical guidance, support, and expertise to the services

- Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative frameworks, government policies

- Lead, motivate, and appraise staff to maximise effectiveness, morale, and job satisfaction

- Perform any other duties as required by the Director (Operations)

 

Customer Services Advisor Apprentice - You:

The ideal candidate will possess the essential qualities:

- Committed to completing a Level 2 Practitioner Certificate in Customer Services both in the workplace and in own time as required

- Strong listening, Keyboard & Interpersonal Skills

- Well-developed Communication Skills

- A willingness to learn and will demonstrate a positive attitude and a flexible, pro-active approach to teamwork and Customer Service
