Our client, a leading independent service provider, seeks a Credit Controller to join their dedicated finance team on a part-time, permanent basis. The role, provides a professional yet relaxed environment conducive to growth and collaboration, it will primarily concentrate on the Sales Ledger function.

The ideal candidate should display a passion for learning and fostering relationships across the organisation. They should be proactive, organised, and eager to contribute to ongoing improvements in systems and processes.

The responsibilities:

  • Pursuing outstanding debts through telephone calls, emails, and correspondence.
  • Recording daily customer receipts and managing banking transactions.
  • Allocating payments and reconciling customer accounts.
  • Addressing and resolving customer inquiries regarding their accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate customer.
  • Generating weekly Aged Debtors reports with detailed commentary.
  • Generating Sales invoices and Credit Notes.
  • Collaborating with Directors to assess debts and decide on potential legal actions.
  • Monitoring the Finance mailbox.
  • Providing support during finance team absences.
  • Assisting the finance team with various ad hoc tasks and special projects as required.

The candidate:

  • Experience in Credit Control with a strong grasp of sales ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency in reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Sage 200 would be advantageous, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
