Freelance Quantity Surveyor- Water Infrastructure Project

Rate: 400-450 per day (inside IR35)

Contract: Initial 3-month contract with potential for extension.

The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of a major water infrastructure project. You will ensure cost control, monitor contract compliance, and support the successful delivery of this essential civils scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and forecasting for the project.
Administer NEC3/4 contracts, including managing compensation events, variations, and early warnings.
Oversee subcontractor management, including valuations, applications, and final accounts.
Prepare accurate monthly reports and cost/value reconciliations.
Provide contractual advice to the project team to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
Work closely with the client, project team, and stakeholders to maintain excellent communication and relationships.

What We're Looking For:

Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor working with tier 1 contractors.
Sector Knowledge: Civils experience is essential; prior exposure to water infrastructure projects is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Contract Expertise: Strong understanding and practical experience with NEC3/4 forms of contract.
Skills: Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Location: Ability to work on-site in Exeter as required.
