Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate educator to join a specialist independent school in Exeter, supporting students aged 11 to 17 with diverse learning needs.

The role:

We are looking for a qualified English Teacher who can teach up to GCSE level and is committed to improving student outcomes. If you’re passionate about inclusive education and helping young people reach their full potential, we want to hear from you!

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons at Key Stage 3 & 4

  • Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP goals and IEP targets

  • Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment

  • Work closely with students, families and a dedicated SEN team

  • Encourage personal growth alongside academic success

You will use relational and trauma-informed approaches to support the young people who all have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). The school uses a variety of methods to engage their learners, both inside and outside the classroom. Therefore, if you are a creative and outgoing individual, we would love to hear from you!

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS or equivalent qualification is essential

  • Experience teaching GCSE English (preferred)

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to support SEMH learners

  • A passion for making education accessible to all students

  • Strong relationship-building skills and a student-centered mindset
