Rough Sleeper Prevention Worker LOCATION:             ExeterHOURS:                   37.5 06:00-13:30SALARY:                 £12.80 Inclusive PAYEDURATION:             Temp 3 months+ Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in people's lives? Do you have a heart for supporting individuals experiencing homelessness? If so, our client is seeking a dedicated Rough Sleeper - Prevention Worker to join this team on a contract basis. This role offers an opportunity to work directly with those in need and contribute to preventing and addressing homelessness in our community.
  • Contribute to proactive measures that prevent individuals from becoming entrenched in rough sleeping.
  • Support vulnerable individuals by providing practical assistance and guidance.
  • Collaborate with local agencies to ensure a holistic and effective approach in addressing homelessness.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in outreach work or relevant field, demonstrating a deep understanding of the complexities of homelessness.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals, showing empathy and sensitivity to their needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both service users and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and resilient nature with the ability to manage challenging situations with compassion and professionalism.
  • Passion for social justice and a commitment to advocating for the homeless community.
Preferred Qualifications (not essential):
  • Relevant qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Additional training in mental health first aid or substance abuse support is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license for travel between locations and to conduct outreach activities.
