Job Title: Import Coordinator
Location: Exeter
Salary: 24,000-30,000 DOE
Hours:Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm, possibility of some home
working but mainly office based.

The Role: In this exciting role full time Import Coordinator role you will handle day-to-day tasks related to shipping and logistics, including forwarding and import processes. Your exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail will ensure timely order fulfilment and excellent customer service. From coordinating with internal teams to facilitating customs clearance, your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of imported goods.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Process and manage import orders from suppliers
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely order fulfilment
- Prepare and maintain documentation
- Work with customs to facilitate the clearance of imported goods
- Ensure all duties and taxes are calculated and paid on time
- Arrange transportation and logistics for incoming shipments
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs officials to resolve issues
- Maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding shipment status
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse for proper stock management
- Stay updated on import/export regulations and trade policies
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with import procedures
- Generate and analyse reports related to import activities and shipment performance
- Provide insights to management for process improvements
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners
- Negotiate terms and conditions to improve procurement efficiency
Your Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience in logistics import or export role is preferable
- Administration experience in a manufacturing or engineering company
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Driven mindset with strong problem solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to work within a team dynamic and independently
- Ambitious to lean and develop
