Trainee Machinist

On offer is an exciting opportunity to join our client's engineering department on a full-time permanent basis. You'll be using a range of machining tools to accurately manufacture ship components and parts.

Our client is based at one of the largest ship-repair facilities in the UK and provide a complete range of marine repair services thanks to their on-site engineering, electrical, paint and fabrication workshops.

Learn how to:
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and vertical and horizontal boring machines.
• Manufacture ship components and parts.
• Work to precise tolerances and specifications using appropriate tools, techniques and materials.
• Read engineering drawings and technical specifications.

The Person:
• Experience as a machinist or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment.
• Someone who thrives in a hands-on role and is keen to further develop their skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Motivated to develop and progress within a dynamic company.
• Committed to ensuring health and safety in your work.
• Have excellent teamwork and communication skills.

The salary advertised is a guideline for this position.

£24,999 - £25,799 + Progression + Training + Overtime + Shifts + Pension

The offered remuneration will be dependent on the extent of your experience, qualifications, and skill set.
