We are the recruitment partner for a Multi Academy Trust in Surrey who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their growing central team.

Ideally this post will be 36 hours / 52 weeks a year and is to support the financial accounting function for schools within the Trust.The successful candidate will be working alongside the existing finance team and Headteachers of schools within the Trust to provide financial expertise and lead the budgeting / management accounting processes to keep them informed of financial performance.We are looking for someone with excellent financial acumen, a pro-active team worker with outstanding inter-personal skills.

In conjunction with Finance and the Head teacher, prepare the school’s annual budget ensuring that the budget facilitate plans for school improvement.

Monitor income and expenditure in relation to the school’s budget, produce monthly management accounts and re forecast reports for the Headteacher and Finance Chair of Governor of the local Governing Board.

Provide budget holders with monthly updates of their accounts and advise them on matters relating to their budgets.

Prepare the financial reporting documentation in accordance with the DF/ESFA financial regulations and Trust financial policy.

Co-ordinate information to support the termly internal and annual external audit, liaising with all parties involved.

Reconcile the school’s payroll to the budget/forecast monthly.

Responsible for analysing costs and other statistical information.

Support the Finance Director and finance function in implementing efficient and effective financial processes to ensure the Trust maintains statutory and regulatory compliance.

Support the updating of the school’s asset register ensuring that it is maintained and regularly updated.

Ensure that all necessary statutory and other returns, reports and documentation are completed.

Advise the school local governing board and its committees as required.
