A returning client of mine is looking to recruit a Billing Manager responsible for the direct supervision and development of the EMEA billing departments. This role involves overseeing a team of 10-13 in Billings, Logistics service billing, customs, and tax fees for shipments, ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of the billing processes. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of end-to-end processes to accommodate all elements of service charges, including duties and taxes.
Day-to-day of the role:- Drive the billing process for the local team, preparing analyses as required. Overseeing a team of 10-15.
- Ensure invoices are timely, accurate, and complete in accordance with customer and company guidelines.
- Gather, analyse, and communicate monthly billing summaries and closing reports for management and client review.
- Oversee the accuracy of job cost estimation and actuals versus revenue.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Distribute team weekly responsibilities and address follow-up questions/requests both internally and externally.
- Analyse claims on invoices, perform appropriate follow-ups on any issues or mistakes, and resolve them when necessary.
- Assist and support Finance in analysing and reconciling customer revenue and cost, and in periodic audits and clean-ups.
- Write, maintain, correct, and develop work instructions to ensure all billing associates are following the same process to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Successfully onboard new accounts/clients and handover to the team.
- Promote development and growth within the team and maintain good team cohesion through effective communication.
- Manage direct reports: hire, train, motivate, and evaluate team members.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of Billing Management experience and managing teams of 5 plus.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills to promote growth and development within the team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced) and strong overall computer skills.
