About Assistant Food and Beverage Manager Role:
We are looking for an experiencedAssistant Food and Beverage Managerwho can assist the F&B Manager in ensuringsmooth and profitable running of the food & beverage outlets in the most efficient, polite and effective manner maintaining hotel standards of service resulting in customer satisfaction.
The AssistantFood and Beverage Managerwill undertake the following duties:
To ensure that the team and resources are managed within budgeted costs, and productivity norms, using every opportunity to use a flexible team who can operate competently in all areas of responsibility, as well as maintaining supplies and equipment to the right standards.
Be able to create and Manage F&B Team rosters when necessary
To support the F&B Manager in leading, coaching and training the Food & Beverage team and ensure all team members are well trained as per Hotel Service Standards, ensure Health and Safety compliance, Food Safety, Risk Assessments, Allergens, etc.
To ensure there are effective communication, operating procedures, as well as clear leadership and direction for the team.
Provide excellent customer service setting an example for the team and maintain the high-quality food standards and service at all times
Know hospitality food trends
Remain calm, composed and in control of unusual situations or busy service times.
Effectively convert guest complaints to compliments
Know guest preferences and be vigilantly attentive to service details, understand guest needs and produce quality to maximum customer satisfaction;
Ensure cleanliness, appropriate functioning of all the F&B equipment, hazard(s) control and/or prevention are taken care of both front of the house and back of the house.
Understands food menu, food portion sizes, food preparation and components which may trigger allergens.
Coordinate with Head Chef methods of controlling wastages.
Ensure proper equipment storage and manual handling to minimize the risk of team members injury and the breakage of crockery and glass or misuse of linen and silverware.
Confidently merchandise food, beverages and special features/offers of the restaurant.
Ensure proper communication among the F&B Team Members to promote upselling skills and adhere to the hotel food service procedures at all times.
Ensure that all colleagues report for duty punctually respecting the department and hotel grooming standards
Ensure that all colleagues have an understanding of and adhere to the Hotel regulations and in particular the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Allergens, Health and Safety.
To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel operation.
To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guests service needs.
To conduct and contribute to regular departmental communication meetings ensuring objectives are reviewed and results monitored and minutes recoded.
To ensure all colleagues are treated fairly and consistently as outlined in their terms and conditions of employment, local legislation, and company/ hotel policies and procedures
To adhere at all times to the companys data protection policies and procedures.
Skills and requirements
Exceptional customer care skills.
Ability to work in a busy environment
Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues and Head of Departments across the hotel
Constantly improve knowledge and show a desire to learn, attend companys trainings
Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance to ensure the department runs efficiently, and assist in the event of absence cover
Maintain high levels of enthusiasm and commitment to every task undertaken
Good communication skills
Proficiency in English Language is strongly preferred
Micros system experience
Previous experience in hotel environment is preferable
