Role Overview: My client, a super prime residential contractor, is looking for an Assistant Buyer with a background in construction to join their Fleet-based team to support an increased workload and healthy pipeline. The role will require an individual with experience of buying materials and subcontractors of the highest quality following a client’s specification. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of London’s most exclusive properties – houses I could only dream of living in! This position will offer the opportunity for continued progression within the business. The company likes to promote from within where possible and offer continued opportunity to climb the ranks and learn new skills. This role is one of the best Assistant Buyer opportunities I’ve ever recruited for at this level, and we are looking for the best Assistant Buyer in the market to match!
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors according to project specifications.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Support the senior buyer in maintaining procurement schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and assess market trends.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on procurement status and address any concerns.
 
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Buyer or detailed knowledge of construction process.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Relevant qualifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.
